Once upon a time there was a dude named Steven and a dudette named Monica. They worked at the same movie theatre handing out popcorn to spoiled guests and cleaning up puke in the arcade. Both were unhappy and both were very lonely.
One day during a particularly busy Christmas shift, it happened. Monica, grumpily reaching for a large cup and Steven, also reaching for the same cup, crossed paths. She thought he was hairy and strange. He thought she was cute and spicy.
“Wanna eat enchiladas at Chuy’s with me?” Steven asked.
“Yeah, sure.” She said.
Sparks flew and they each thought the other was awesome.
She introduced him to chopsticks and Mexican culture and he introduced her to WWE and superhero movies. They took road trips to Austin, kissed at midnight on New Year’s and made fun of each other relentlessly.
It wasn’t all rainbows and ponies though, they were both young and kind of dumb. They fought over little things and eventually went their separate ways to try and become their own people. During their time apart he got promoted and she went to Paris.
There was something missing though and each of them knew that. Finally, on June 16th, 2014, Steven decided after a long year of Facebook stalking, he would reach out to Monica again. One thing led to another and they reconnected over margaritas and queso.
The world fell back into place. They talked and laughed and realized they never wanted to be apart from each other ever again.
On a cool Oscar Sunday evening Steven did what he had wanted to do for a very long time. He got down on one knee and asked his leading lady if she would take his hand in marriage and never leave his side.
She said hell yes.
And now we’re gettin’ hitched!
